The partners involved in the delivery of the ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it (PVGW) 2.0’ project came together earlier this week at the home of European Volleyball in Luxembourg for a mid-term get-together to assess the latest achievements and devise plans for the next steps and actions to undertake following their previous such meeting held in Romania in the fall of 2023.

The meeting was an opportunity to review the final version of the educational material produced thus far by the CEV and the German Sport University of Cologne (DSHS), with the final version of the Handbook confirmed and published. This, together with an impressive number of videos, is available on the CEV Campus. People must register (some 190 have signed up this far) and will have an active account for the subsequent seven days, during which they can download the material and store it on their own devices. Two courses are available, namely “PVGW 2.0 Educational Material” and “Play to Learn”, the latter produced in close cooperation with renowned Beach Volleyball coach Kåre Mol of Norway.

The CEV Development Department shared an update on the social media campaign launched together with partners ResultSports to disseminate the educational materials resulting from the project across a variety of platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X. All National Federations have been asked to help reach as many people as possible in their respective communities, and graphics and videos have been made available specifically for this purpose.

The Macedonian Society of Penology (MSP) presented a first draft of the ‘Guardians of the Court’ document, a guide designed to ensure the safeguarding of children in Volleyball and beyond. All partners have been requested to provide their feedback and comments by the end of September.

Apart from reviewing financial and administrative obligations associated with the project, the partners also discussed the organisation and delivery of national workshops. The Austrian Volleyball Federation (ÖVV) already confirmed that their national workshop will be held this coming September 13-14 in Sankt Pölten, for which online registrations are already open. Iceland and Ireland are likely to have theirs in late November and early December, respectively, with Romania envisioning such an event for early November instead.
